Your Shopify catalog, selling in Instagram DMs and on your site — with checkout links.
Set it up from a chat in Claude in about 15 minutes. Paste your store address and the assistant knows every product, variant and price, answers shoppers, and sends a link to your own Shopify checkout with the items already in the cart. The first 250 products are searchable within a couple of minutes, and the rest of the catalog syncs right after.
How it works
Three steps in one chat. Claude proposes each change and waits for your approval before it creates anything.
Add the connector in Claude
In the Claude app, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste https://connector.mychatbot.app/mcp. Sign in with your email and a one-time code; a new account starts with a free trial.
Paste your store address
Say it in plain words: “Set up an assistant that sells my Shopify store https://yourstore.com in my Instagram DMs and on my website. Keep prices and stock updated daily.” Claude proposes the assistant and builds it once you approve.
Test it, then sell in DMs
Claude runs a private test chat, so you see the answers before any shopper does. The website widget connects from the chat; Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp sign in through Meta in the dashboard, from a link Claude gives you.
What a shopper sees
The assistant answers from your synced catalog. When the shopper is ready to buy, it sends one link that opens your store’s checkout with the item in the cart.
↳Illustrative conversation: the store, product and prices are made up. Your assistant answers from your own catalog as of the last sync.
Checkout links
An assistant that uses a Shopify feed gets checkout links automatically, in every channel it runs in.
The link is on your store’s address and opens your Shopify checkout with the chosen items, variants and quantities already in the cart. The shopper pays as usual.
The assistant can add a discount code to the link, but only one you gave it — for example: “If a first-time buyer asks for a discount, offer the code WELCOME10.” Shopify checks the code at checkout.
Orders placed through these links carry the referral code mychatbot. In Shopify admin, open an order and look at its Conversion summary.
What syncs, and what doesn’t
MyChatBot reads the same public product data your storefront shows shoppers, plus the store currency. Each product is one catalog entry with all its variants inside, so a shirt in ten sizes counts once toward your plan’s catalog capacity.
Synced
- Products: title, description, type, vendor (brand) and tags
- Every variant: options such as size and color, price, sale (compare-at) price, in stock or sold out, SKU
- Images and product links
- The store currency
Not synced
- Orders and order status
- Customers
- Discounts
- Inventory quantities (only in stock or sold out)
- Subscriptions and selling plans
The assistant answers from the last sync, not live from your store. Keep auto-update on and set the refresh period to every 6 hours or once a day; after a large change, refresh by hand instead of waiting. Keep prices and stock fresh
Works alongside Shopify’s connector for Claude
They do different jobs, and you can add both to Claude and use them in one conversation.
Shopify’s official connector for Claude lets Claude manage your store: products, inventory and orders.
The MyChatBot connector builds the assistant that sells those products to shoppers on your website, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp and Telegram.
For example, add a product with Shopify’s connector, then ask MyChatBot to run a test chat about it after the next sync. Using both connectors
Questions before you start
Do I need a Shopify app or API keys?
No. There is nothing to install and no key to create: MyChatBot reads the same public product data your storefront shows shoppers, plus the store currency.
My store has a password page. Will it work?
Not while the password is on: a password-protected store can’t be read. Remove the password when the store opens; meanwhile, the feed URL from a Google Shopping feed app works for search, but without checkout links.
How fresh are prices and stock?
As fresh as the last sync: the assistant doesn’t read your store live. Keep auto-update on and set the refresh period to every 6 hours or once a day. If stock changes between syncs, an item can show as sold out at checkout; a shorter refresh period narrows the gap.
Which channels can it sell in?
Your website widget, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram and other channels, with checkout links in all of them. The widget and a Telegram bot connect from the chat in Claude; Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp sign in through Meta in the dashboard, and Claude gives you a link that opens it already signed in.
Can it look up orders or sell subscriptions?
No. Shopify orders aren’t synced, so the assistant can’t check an order’s status; tell it in its instructions where shoppers can. Checkout links don’t support subscription products, so for those the assistant shares the product link instead.
Can I set it up without Claude?
Yes. In the dashboard, open Knowledge Base, connect a Product Feed and paste your store address. In Claude Code or Codex, the MyChatBot plugin runs the same workflow.
What do I need, and what does it cost?
A Shopify store and a MyChatBot account with a Sales plan or an active free trial. To set it up from Claude, you also need a Claude plan that allows custom connectors (the paid plans). Each product counts once toward your plan’s catalog capacity, however many variants it has. Pricing
Let your catalog answer the DMs
Add the connector, paste your store address, and watch a private test chat end in a checkout link before any shopper sees it.
